Before the melodies of ‘You’re Beautiful’ took the world by storm, James Blunt knew a completely different life, far removed from the spotlight of the music industry.
As an officer, he proudly served his country in the tumultuous landscape of Kosovo. The British army was no stranger to the Blunt family, given their military tradition going back generations. His service in Kosovo was not only a duty, but also became an inspiration and resulted in the poignant song ‘No Bravery’. A song that reflects the horrors of war and its personal impact. In addition, Blunt had the unique honour of being one of the pallbearers at Queen Mother Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon’s funeral.
But while war and military service left their mark on his early life, James felt a different calling. The world of music and melody opened its doors and James, with his distinctive voice, entered that world with open arms.
